zombie movies

Omg I'm so digging AMC series The Walking Dead its on the second season now catch the first season on netflix or borrow it from your local library really cool series. Also on the cable tv chiller channel Remains is a zombie movie premiering on 12/16/11 previews look good and is based on a zombie comic book. Brad Pitt just finished filming World War Z so ill be on the look out for that soon- I didn't know that was a book so I'm defintely going to pick that up. Great list and responses I'm going to check out all your suggestions and have a zombie flickathon with my boyfriend.

28 Days Later?

I thought 28 Days Later was actually pretty good for a zombie movie.

Subject 2

Subject 2 is sort of a zombie/Frankenstein/reanimation movie. If you like your horror creepy, disturbing, smart, and without camp, it is fabulous.

WHAT about "I AM LEGEND" ??!!

your list is very nice, but I Am Legend did not even make it on there!
—Guest BRi

also great

Planet Terror, City of the Living Dead, Nightmare City and Plague of the Zombies(UK), and for something completely different, read World War Z, no zombie movie comes close
—Guest GusC

you missed one

Mutants- It's a french language zombie movie, that does an outstanding job of drawing you into the characters and also showing the transformation once a person is bitten. If you are a zombie fan you must check it out!

I WAlK WITH A ZOMBIE

Came out in the late mid 50's? I loved to imagine I was the zombie walking, with my hands out in front, in my long flowing white nightgown through the jungles of the island to the zombie rituals.

No "Day of the Dead" original???

How can you not include the original Day of the Dead by Romero??!! That movie is without a doubt one of the best horror movies ever made (and IMO it is THE best!) and it is my personal favorite horror movie ever! Everything about that movie makes it a great zombie movie: the setting in the underground bunker which is so creepy and the perfect setting for a zombie movie, the acting was great, the music was creepy as hell, the zombies were terrifying, the gore was amazing. It is just a perfect zombie movie and i'm very surprised and disappointed you did not include it anywhere in this list! I would put Romero's Day of the Dead as #1 on my zombie movie list.

Here is some overlooked zombie classics.

1- Cemetery man 1994. One of the best zombie films ever. Deep, can go from comedy to the sublime on a dime. 2- Burial Ground 1981. Zombie heads explode like clay pots. Worth getting just for the nursing scene alone. 3- REC 2007. Filmed like Cloverfield, it makes you jump out of your skin. 4- The return of the living dead- 1985. Total fun
