Share Your Story: The Most Scared I've Been While Watching a Horror Movie Was...

From mlmack

The name of the movie was...and I saw it when I was...

Carrie and I saw it when I was 15. I saw it in a theater.

What made it so scary

That dang hand coming up out of the ground. My parents told me that they would take me if I read the book. I ran upstairs and skimmed through the pages and came back down stairs and announced that I had read the book. My mom told my dad, "go ahead and take her".

I was fine until that dang hand came up out of the ground, and I began to scream, and scream and scream. My dad said that I jumped 5 feet.

Of course that night I wanted to sleep with my parents and they said "No". If you are old enough to watch that movie then you are old enough to sleep by yourself after seeing it. That night I spent a sleepless in front of my parents bedroom door in the hall way.

To this day, the movie still spooks me, but not as much.

Lessons Learned

  • Lesson learned, sometimes the book does not tell the whole truth. Years later when I did read the book, I never read that part about the hand coming up out of the ground.
