Premise:
With the development of synthetic blood called Tru Blood as a steady source of food, vampires have emerged from the shadows and integrated themselves openly into human society. Public opinion is split, with some, like the American Vampire League, open to their integration and others, like the Fellowship of the Sun, distrustful. In the small town of Bon Temps, Louisiana, vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) arrives to wary eyes, but telepathic waitress Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) welcomes him, being a bit of a freak of nature herself. However, a series of mysteries following Bill's arrival makes her re-think her position. From Alan Ball, creator of Six Feet Under, based on the Southern Vampire Mysteries books by Charlaine Harris.
