About.com Rating 3.5

By Mark H. Harris, About.com

Midnight Meat Train© Lions Gate

The Skinny

  • Acting: B- (The cast isn't necessarily top-tier talent, but they perform as well as can be expected.)
  • Direction: B+ (Displays great visual flair, only occasionally bordering on gimmickry.)
  • Script: B- (Solid, although a few questions remain.)
  • Gore/Effects: B+ (A train load of glorious gore, tinged by a couple of clunky digital effects.)
  • Overall: B (Genuinely thrilling, if not always chilling.)

The Midnight Meat Train is directed by Ryuhei Kitamura and is rated R for sequences of strong bloody gruesome violence, grisly images involving nudity, sexual content and language. Opening date: August 1, 2008.
