Summer 2008 promises a busy slate of horror and suspense movies, including a few horror hybrid blockbusters aiming to make you shiver in the middle of the summer.

Opening Date: August 22, 2008 (Limited)

Synopsis: Director Eli Roth (Hostel, Cabin Fever) announced in 2007 that he would be working on a feature-lenth movie comprised entirely of the sort of fake trailers that populated that year's Grindhouse (Roth directed the faux slasher trailer Thanksgiving.), and August 22, 2008, was announced as the release date, but with no word since the fall of 2007 on this film's status, it looks unlikely that it will come out in 2008.

Starring: TBD

All the Boys Love Mandy Lane

Opening Date: August 2008 (Limited)

Synopsis: Another film that might not find its way to a theater this summer (and considering it's hitting DVD in the UK this summer, it might end up straight-to-video), this slasher about a stalker who kills high school rivals for Mandy Lane's (Amber Heard) affection was pushed back from its April 2008 release date to a tentative August opening.

Starring: Amber Heard, Anson Mount, Whitney Able, Michael Welch, Edwin Hodge, Aaron Himelstein, Luke Grimes
