Ginger and Brigitte are death-obsessed and abnormally bonded Goth teen sisters. One night, they're attacked by a mysterious creature, and Ginger is bitten before the animal is run over by local drug dealer Sam. Ginger starts sprouting body hair and seducing boys in which she previously had no interest, so Brigitte suspects she's becoming a werewolf. When Ginger's bloodlust leads to the deaths of a couple of school employees, it becomes obvious that she needs more help than a high school guidance counselor can provide. Brigitte and Sam make a wolfsbane serum that seems to be a cure, and in order to lure an increasingly resistant Ginger, Brigitte infects herself with her sister's blood. However, Ginger transforms before they can inject her and kills Sam. When were-Ginger attacks Brigitte, the monster lands on the knife she's holding, killing it.

Infected from the injection of Ginger's blood, Brigitte is turning into a werewolf. The wolfsbane injections aren't a permanent solution, but they keep the transformation at bay while she goes all Bruce Banner trying to develop a cure. If that wasn't bad enough, there's a werewolf tracking her, apparently attracted to her scent. In the aftermath of an encounter with the beast, Brigitte ends up unconscious and is brought to a rehab facility, where the top banana, Alice, wants to treat her "addiction" to wolfsbane. A young girl named Ghost helps Brigitte escape to her grandmother's house, but the wolf tracks them down. Brigitte kills it in the basement, but when she starts to emerge from below, Ghost locks her in, deciding to keep her as a werewolf pet, planning to unleash it on her enemies.

This film re-imagines Ginger and Brigitte as nomad sisters on the Canadian frontier in 1815. The girls are taken in by residents of a fort after Brigitte is hurt by a bear trap, but the people are wary of strangers because the fort has been besieged by werewolves. That night, Ginger is bitten by a deformed wolf-boy and starts to show signs of infection. After the boy is found and killed, the sisters are banished from the fort. As Ginger's bloodlust grows, she separates from Brigitte, who returns to the fort and is sentenced to death. Ginger comes to the rescue, bringing with her a horde of werewolves. The resulting battle leaves the fort destroyed, with only the sisters left alive. They rub together cuts on their respective hands, infecting Brigitte and keeping the werewolf bloodline going.
