What were the biggest struggles involved in making an independent film like this? How long have you been working on it?

We worked on this film for five years. The biggest struggles are getting the script into a good place and then building the team of artists, all of which is a product of that script. But of course the bane of all independent film is finding the money. We struggled through the whole process to find enough private equity to make the film, and the climate has only gotten worse in the last couple of years. I honestly don't know how a film would get made now on our budget. You are going to see a shift in films that are over $10 million with all name actors or fewer than 500k with nothing in between until we figure out the new distribution models. Artists will always find a way to be heard, but it is going to be shaky for a little while in the world of indie film.

How did Tori Spelling end up in the movie?

I just want to say Tori is awesome. She is such a professional. She has been working since she was a little girl and had to work twice as hard as most to get out from under the calls of nepotism. I think she is one of the most talented and underused actresses in Hollywood.

We were lucky enough to get her because one of my producers is represented by the same agency. The agents liked our script and got it to her. She loved the part and was happy to play a character that got away from the sweet, girly parts that she usually gets.

What's next for you? Any other projects lined up?

We have a whole slate of films, some for which we have written whole scripts and others just synopses. We are waiting to see how people respond to Cthulhu in order to gauge our options. If anyone reading this loves this film and is rich, give us a call! We are ready to keep making smart films, and our team and the ideas are all in place and ready to go.

Thanks for your time!

Thank you for the questions, and we truly appreciate all of the support we have received from the horror community.
