With no major horror theatrical releases this week, the scare burden falls on a bunch of small, cult releases with a decidely sleazy air.
Boarding House
This cheesy early '80s slasher takes place in -- you guessed it -- a boarding house full of nubile young women, ripe for the stabbing and such.
The Complete Toxic Avenger
Troma geeks unite! Not only does this box set include all four of the cult favorite Toxic Avenger films, but you also get the feature-length documentary Apocalypse Soon: The Making of Citizen Toxie and all 13 episodes of the Toxic Crusaders cartoon. (Perhaps Troma founder Lloyd Kaufman's most impressive feat of all time is getting a children's show based on his explicit Toxic Avenger series to air on network TV -- even if it was FOX.)
Delirium
In this 1972 Italian sleazefest, a criminal psychologist moonlights as a sex-crazed serial killer, but is he the only one? Dream sequences of torture and kinky sex keep the twisted factor high in this release that contains both the American and Italian versions. Can you guess which one is freakier?

Gutterballs
A slasher set in a bowling alley? It was bound to happen sooner or later. The good news: if it's a turkey, that's a good thing in bowling.
Harm's Way
An abused woman takes her daughter and runs away to an isolated women's shelter, but the woman in charge turns out to be a psychopath who wants the daughter for herself.
Headless Horseman
A group of college friends on the way to a party end up stuck in a small town haunted by a headless horseman who needs seven heads every seven years...and wouldn't you know it, tonight's the night.
Hitch-Hike
Apparently not averse to being typecast as a rapist/murderer, David Hess followed up his demented role in Wes Craven's Last House on the Left with this 1978 Italian work about a couple who pick up a sadistic hitchhiker. Why do people always pick up the sadistic ones?

In the Blood
A college student begins to have visions of his sister's death that are tied to recent murders around campus. He discovers that, for some reason, his psychic ability is related to his embrace of his homosexual tendencies.
Killing Car
From French erotic horror icon Jean Rollin comes this tale of a woman who steals a car and then proceeds to kill anyone who gets in her way.
Knock Knock
A slasher about a masked killer targeting high school students? What's next, a romantic comedy in which a man has to chase a woman down at the airport before she boards a plane?
