NBC has finally scheduled its eagerly anticipated Hannibal, the story of the early relationship between heretofore cinematic cannibal Hannibal Lecter (played Mads Mikkelsen) and FBI agent Will Graham (Hugh Dancy). It will premiere on Thursday, April 4, at 10:00 PM ET/PT, a time slot that had been golden for the network for decades -- from Hill Street Blues to LA Law to ER -- but which lately has tanked, reaching a low point with the recently canceled Jekyll and Hyde-inspired Do No Harm, which had the dubious distinction of being the lowest-rated in-season scripted debut EVER in the history of the four major networks.
With Hannibal arriving in April and A&E's Bates Motel landing on March 18, this means that in successive months, viewers will delve into the early years of cinematic serial killers Norman Bates and Hannibal Lecter. What's next, Michael Myers: The Degrassi High Years? That's So Jason?
