Under the Dome Gets a Premiere Date and First Cast Member

The previously announced CBS adaptation of the Stephen King novel Under the Dome now has an official premiere date: June 24. Five months seems pretty far away until you realize the show doesn't even have a cast yet. In fact, it's just added its first member: 16-year-old Colin Ford, who played young Sam in Supernatural, will play Joe McClatchey, a teen who's stuck inside the mysterious impenetrable dome with his mother while his father is on the other side. "Scarecrow Joe" even has his own real-life blog that serves as a companion piece to the book (and presumably the series) and provides more insight into the character. I imagine the casting will become fast and furious in the upcoming weeks, as the clock ticks away to the June 24 premiere.
