Dexter's upcoming eighth season -- presumably its final one -- will come early, beginning in the summer instead of its usual fall start date. Rather than the standard late September premiere, Showtime has shifted the serial killer series' season premiere to June 30. The cable channel's strategy is to use Dexter's remaining influence to pair it with a new show, the Liev Schreiber drama Ray Donovan. Likewise, it plans on pairing Dexter's old partner Homeland -- now a behemoth of its own -- with another new series, Masters of Sex.
