Golden Globe nominations were announced on Thursday, and for the second straight year, Jessica Lange earned a nod for her work on American Horror Story. Unlike last year, when she won in the Best Supporting Actress category, she's nominated this year as a lead actress for her role as the diabolical (though not nearly as diabolical as others on the show) nun Sister Jude.
American Horror Story as a whole, however, didn't fare as well. Last year, it was nominated for Best Drama, but this year it was snubbed -- perhaps impacted by its decision to compete as a miniseries rather than a regular TV series. In fact, no other horror/suspense show received a nomination, which is a bit disappointing; although Dexter and True Blood have had off years, I was hopeful for The Walking Dead, which is still on an upswing.

she is brilliant
I’m so glad to see Jessica Lange nominated in the Lead Actress category instead of the Supporting Actress. The two-time Academy Award winner has just BLOWN AWAY the competition once again this year–she’s flawless.
