After a 10-year hiatus, The X-Files' Gillian Anderson will make her return to primetime television next year in NBC's new series Hannibal, based around the iconic Hannibal Lecter character. She will play Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier, Lecter's therapist, in her first American TV series role since The X-Files ended in 2002. According to Entertainment Weekly, it won't be a permanent role -- at least, not yet -- but rather a "multi-episode arc." Anderson joins an impressive cast that includes Mads Mikkelsen as Lecter, Hugh Dancy as Special Agent Will Graham, Laurence Fishburne as Agent Jack Crawford and recurring appearances from Eddie Izzard, Gina Torres and Molly Shannon. There's no specific premiere date for Hannibal yet, but expect to see it on the air in the first half of 2013.
