The divisive found footage anthology V/H/S is still in theaters and on demand, but it's already spawning a sequel. According to The Hollywood Reporter, producers are wasting little time planning V/H/S 2, signing on indie directors Eduardo Sanchez (The Blair Witch Project), Adam Wingard (A Horrible Way to Die), Gareth Evans (The Raid: Redemption), Jason Eisener (Hobo with a Shotgun), Timo Tjahjanto (the Indonesian film Macabre) and Simon Barrrett (writer of Wingard's A Horrible Way to Die and You're Next).
Of that group, only Wingard returns from V/H/S, in which he helmed the wraparound story "Tape 56," about a group of young punks hired to retrieve a mysterious video tape from a creepy old house who end up viewing a series of videos of murder and mayhem. V/H/S 2 will reportedly have a similar setup, with two private eyes searching for a missing person who end up finding some videos while scouring through his home.
There's no release date yet, but if they've already got the talent and plot lined up, it's reasonable to think we'll get to see V/H/S 2 in 2013 -- particularly with the small-scale production needed for such low-tech found footage fare.
