If at first you don't succeed...
Despite ABC canceling the "found footage" series The River after only one season, producer Jason Blum hasn't taken the rejection to heart -- after all, he's had success in the genre with a little something called Paranormal Activity. Jumping back on the found footage horse, Blum is developing a PA-styled hour-long show for MTV entitled The Experiment. There's no word on what exactly it's about (I'll go out on a limb and say an experiment of some sort.), but it was created by Brian Horiuchi, writer of the 2009 online horror series Circle of Eight, and Miguel Sapochnik, who's directed episodes of Fringe, Falling Skies and Awake as well as the futuristic Jude Law-Forest Whitaker actioner Repo Men -- so it would be well within their comfort zone to go the sci fi-horror route.
Things are still early at this point -- there's been no casting, and the project hasn't been approved past the initial pilot stage -- but The Experiment seems like it would serve as a perfect companion for MTV's Teen Wolf, which was recently renewed for a third season.
