The period thriller The Raven failed to scare up an audience this past weekend, earning a modest $7.29 million, good enough for only seventh place. The John Cusack vehicle made about $3,300 per theater, the worst average of the four films opening in wide release on Friday. On the bright side, the movie's production was only about $25 million, so although it probably won't reach that number at the box office, it won't have a hard time turning a profit on home video.
