One of the most intriguing genre films currently in development is Kitchen Sink, whose wacky concept finds humans, vampires and zombies putting their differences aside to fight a common foe: aliens. The script made the 2010 edition of the Black List, which annually celebrates the most buzz-worthy screenplays amongst film executives.
The script, which will be the feature film debut of writer Oren Uziel, was previously purchased by Sony, and now it's moved closer to fruition with the recent naming of a director: Robbie Pickering. Pickering has only one film to his credit, the indie comedy Natural Selection, and no doubt he'll be putting his comedic chops to the test in what has been described as "The Breakfast Club meets Zombieland." It may even get a decent-sized budget, seeing as producer Matt Tolmach is also handling the Spider-Man reboot. Hopefully we'll see everything PLUS the Kitchen Sink in 2013.
