After sitting out Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, Kate Beckinsale is returning for the fourth film in the series, scheduled to hit theaters in January 2012. The British actress starred in the first two action-horror movies as the vampire Selene caught between a centuries-old war between vampires and werewolves ("Lycans"), but she took the third film off, since it was a prequel set before her character's birth.
Lycans was also the first entry in the series not directed by Beckinsale's husband, Len Wiseman. Wiseman won't be returning as director for Underworld 4, although he will serve as producer. The plot reportedly will include a daughter for Selene, perhaps allowing Beckinsale to pass the torch to a new generation of latex-clad heroic vampiresses?

Two thumbs way up!! This movie will do very well you can rest assure. Kate Beckinsale IS Underworld, and even though I personally liked the Rise of the Lycans, I still enjoyed the first two movies a lot more. This news is going to excite die-hard fans of the series. I can’t wait til it comes out!! Great news!!!
