People go into demonic possession movies expecting to see shocking effects of the otherworldly affliction, from the levitation and pea soup vomit in The Exorcist to the contortionism in The Exorcism of Emily Rose to the ectoplasmic oral spewage in The Haunting in Connecticut. Well, the latest possession film is called The Last Exorcism, and its teaser poster -- in which star Ashley Bell does her best folding chair impersonation -- certainly promises some freaky possession antics.
The movie, previously titled Cotton, is (at least partially) shot in POV-style, as a disbelieving minister who's performed dozens of sham exorcisms decides to film his "final" one, only to discover that -- uh oh -- this possession is quite real. There are no big names in the cast, but Eli Roth is producing and no doubt had a hand in getting it into theaters starting on August 27.
