Saw 7 in 3-D, Saw 8 Already in the Works

Could there be an end in sight for the Saw franchise? If so, it won't come for at least another two years. In an interesting interview with Collider.com, producer Mark Burg and writer Marcus Dunstan talk about having the storyline planned through an eighth film (Saw VI hits theaters on October 23) and about plans to shoot Saw VII in...yes, 3-D. So, will Halloween 2011 witness the end of Saw? If Saw VIII turns out to be a hit, don't count on it.

(3) Jimmy says:

The thing to bear in mind is, for the studio it’s not about any kind of artistic integrity or originality or keeping the fans happy, it’s about making money pure and simple. They are making so damn many Saw films because they are profitable.

With any sequel to any movie you usually have a declining interest (Some exceptions) which shows itself as in less profit with each movie made, however you can help negate that by keeping production budget down also.

I think the death knell for the series will be when they do something which displeases the fans so much that cinema attendance and dvd sales fall too low, or alternatively when the premise itself becomes too stale which would also bring upon those low sales.

(7) Mark says:

I dont think that i agree with most people mostly because they say that saw is stupid, personally i love saw and i dont really want to see it turn to sh*t, if they are going to make a 8th film then all i really want them to do is just keep the twists comming and make the movies a little bit longer because saw 5 and 6 were both pretty short and they didnt really have good twists in them, i mean sure some parts caught me off guard but like add a new character in the plot or something to keep things going.

Jigsaw is the new super hero. The new millennium’s moral crusader.
Why stop at Saw 7 or 8?
Jigsaw should span decades like James Bond.
The show must go on…

(21) prizefyter says:

I say ‘Yes! Please!’ Continue to make SAW films till the end of time. Of course, so long as so called ‘quality’ is high.
And it’s not the fact of (and not to say there is) mediocre acting, cheesy lines, weakening twists/plots…but more so how they make it all fit. The more flashbacks and the more answers to questions that remain and how it all comes together is the exciting part! And if they continue to add and build and somehow make it all fit is what I like. And of course, a killer surprise ending!

(25) Gordon says:

the plot of saw is starting to die out, and the movie’s turning into more of a gore than a horror film. They should leave it for a bit and have a Caption at the bottom, that say’s something like,”5 year’s later” where a highschool student does some sort of school project on the legacy of jigsaw. and fall’s into the ruthless game himself. (he becomes the latest legacy). He start’s off with senceless killing, mostly revenge on his peer’s, but when John’s wife show’s up to try to reclaim the legacy of jigsaw herself, she is forced to set up the alltamate game, involving herself, the highschool student, and Dr.Gordon, a familier but long lost face.as opposed to making life or death choices for everybody. the game is set up so that, the object is to try to save as many of them as possible. The final trap consist’s of 5/6 of the saved people to opperate, or they will all be trapped for the rest of their lives, in the thilf that they have so foolishly lived there so Called live’s in. consider it a, clensing of the soul for the past jigsaw legacy holder’s, as well as the ultamate competition to see who has the privillage of caring on the jigsaw legacy. the ifference between this game, is that it will alrready have set rulez.

(29) Weston says:

I have always been a big fan of the whole Saw series since I was introduced to it 5 years ago. I do admit there are many torturous scenes in the movie, but I also know that it is only acting and no real person dies in the movie, only his/her character.
I am glad this one question of mine is finally answered regarding one of the Saw characters. “In Saw I, Dr. Gordon leaves Adam in the bathroon with a sawn-off foot. Does he die from blood loss or is he still alive?” I knew Adam had died in the bathroon later on, but I kept on asking myself what Lawrence Gordon’s fate was after the bathroon incident. Saw VII answered my question, thank goodness. He is still alive. Whether the series is to end in 2 years or keep going for a long time, know that it is one of my favorite sets of horror films, gruesome or not.

I love the saw franchise! Im a girl who is in love with horror and i love its storyline. Ill so be seeing saw 7 this year along with saw 8 so excited! i never tire of these films because they are always filled with excitement and full of surprises!

A trap i would like to see:
Boiling Tanks-There are three people each inside their own glass chamber filled with water and each person is wearing an oxygen mask. The person outside has a set of 12 levers that will either kill or save their family that is trapped in the containers. Trick is in order to pull the lever it requires a digit, as in finger, plus if they pull the wrong lever one certain persons tank rises in temperature by 30 degrees starting from 70 degrees. Each person has four levers but only one saves them. Think about it 12 levers only ten digits lol. So torture and a show. I think it would be interesting.

i still remember my brother running in the room telling me about this new movie thriller (he knows i love em n horror movies so damn much) btw with the tape in his hand he says lets watch it i barely understoud the concept of the movie and didnt like it theat much but i watched it over and i was amazed it was one hell of a smart wit movie watch 2 and then they just amuzed me more every series i agree with robin they just better the more they added i love the shock it gives me at the end and how we miss the small details but i love the whole SAW movies and kudosx10000000000000000 to the producers, writers , director and to tobin bell (he is the real super hero in this moviehe is likerobert england in nightmare on elms street and chucky who mismerized and hockedus up with their voices if u take away the voice and replace it then the franchise will lose its qaulity) hope in ten years from now our children or grand children dont remake the saw movies oh by then all movies will be 3d and high in view
btw i still watch all the saw movies and still i’m learining new things and its great

Come on October, bring on more saw. Normally I’m not a big 3D fan but I’ll definitely be paying for saw traps in 3D. You’ll really be able to hear the blood splatter. Cant wait! As far as I’m concerned the more saw movies the better, so long as they keep doing exactly as they are, and don’t stray to far. I’ve been in theaters from the beginning and for every installment and love each one. I’ve never been disappointed with any of them. My only objection, and it’s a Big one is Amanda’s untimely demise. I could of watched her ” trap ” people for infinity. Yes I’m a bit obsessed and proud of it. Come on October.

(40) Sticks&Stones says:

Me personally, I believe there needs to be a Saw 8. I love the Saw series. But like someone already said, there needs to be a new motive or like some 5 years and some student type ish. Or doctor trying to copy cat what already is. Why does each movie already takes place getting right too it. Like they dont waste anytime. I hated SAW 7. What a waste of 6.50 it was so modern at the beginning hopefully everyone can agree with me on this. Like all those people gathered up in front of the glass, not doing sh**. And one cop or sercurity gaurd? I didn’t like that. Or none of the traps for that matter. I definately didn’t like when the Detective killed Jill. And like whats up with the “AAA” thing? Tell your story about how you were traped. And doctor Gordons applauds and etc..What happen to that kid in SAW 6? What happen to that writer that was seeing that insurance guy? A lot of unanswered questions. Which I thought Saw 7 was going to do. Which it didn’t. Who already didn’t know that Dr. Gordon was somewhat behind it all? Keep it coming. =/
