Ready for Halloween 3? Without Rob Zombie?

After seeing Halloween II, the thought of a Halloween III might strike you as scarier than anything Rob Zombie put on screen, but what if Zombie isn't involved? That's the scenario that appears to be taking place, as The Weinstein Company has announced plans for a summer 2010 release of a third edition of the "rebooted" Halloween franchise, this time time in -- wait for it -- 3-D! Effectively, this is a reboot of a reboot, the 3-D angle presumably an indication of a somewhat lighter tone than Zombie's two flicks. If you can't beat 'em -- and Halloween II certainly didn't beat The Final Destination this past weekend -- join 'em.
