Horror Remakes Roundup: Poltergeist, The Gate, The Echo

A few updates on the horror remake front, including:

• The Poltergeist remake has gotten a November 24, 2010 release date.
• The '80s family-friendly horror flick The Gate (starring a young Stephen Dorff) is officially being remade, with shooting beginning this summer. It will reportedly be shot in 3-D and will be directed by Alex Winter, better known as the other guy from Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure (also a vamp in The Lost Boys).
• The Echo, a remake of the Philippine ghost flick Sigaw, has been picked up by Image Entertainment for release on video on November 10, 2009.
