The Michael Bay-produced remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street has a writer: Wesley Strick. The veteran scribe has a number of big horror/suspense credits to his name, including Arachnophobia, Cape Fear, Wolf, The Glass House and Doom. He better get to writing pretty soon, though, because according to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio hopes to have the film in theaters in time for the original's 25th anniversary, which would be November 2009.
