Cloverfield, the secretive movie that once was known only by its theatrical release date, 1-18-08 (pictured), now has a DVD release date: April 22, 2008.

In sadder release news, Lions Gate has removed the Clive Barker tale Midnight Meat Train from its May 16 theatrical date and labeled the film simply as "coming soon." It's a shame, because that trailer was one of the freakiest I'd seen in the past year...at least until Liv Tyler's ultra-creepy The Strangers. (If you haven't seen that spine-tingling trailer, do so NOW.)

Of less ground-shaking release news is the fact that the Sci-Fi Channel's supernatural period piece Lost Colony: The Legend of Roanoke (also known as Wraiths of Roanoke or maybe 5-20-08?) will hit DVD on May 20.
