Sam Raimi Delivers New Horror-Themed Reality Show

Sunday March 16, 2008
Sam RaimiCBS is already responsible for virtually all of the major horror TV shows on air right now, with Ghost Whisperer and Moonlight, Reaper and Supernatural (through CBS-owned The CW) and Dexter (through CBS-owned Showtime), and now comes word that Sam Raimi of Evil Dead and Spider Man fame, is executive producing a horror-themed reality show for The CW. The show it titled 13, and the vague details revealed by Variety make it sound like an elaborate game show in which 13 players compete, and 12 are eliminated (killled?) in a slasher-styled setting. Sounds intriguing, although hopefully it's not just a rehash of MTV's Fear. 13 is scheduled to hit the air this summer, joining NBC's Fear Itself to make this the scariest summer of television since Dancing With the Stars premiered in 2005.

On a slightly related note, am I the only one who kind of misses Sci-Fi Channel's Scare Tactics? MTV's Room 401 (hosted by Jared Padalecki of Supernatural) was a pale, humorless imitation.
