Don't Be Scared of The Signal, People!

Tuesday February 26, 2008
Yeah, man, I'm disturbed too.The final numbers are in for this past weekend's box office, and it doesn't look good for The Signal. Even for a limited release (160 theaters), it had a dismal debut, with only about $145,000 in box office receipts -- or an average of barely $900 per theater. To put that into perspective, it opened in five more theaters than I Am Legend is currently playing in and still made less money than Legend did in its 11th week of release. ELEVENTH!

Maybe people are taking the viral marketing campaign a bit too seriously and are genuinely concerned that they'll have their brains scrambled if they see The Signal. If that's the case, don't worry; just wrap some tin foil around your head and roll on out to the theater, people! We lose our right to complain about crappy, big-budget studio horror movies if we don't support smaller, quality flicks like this one. Do you want to be responsible for I Know Who Killed Me 2?
